Adiós invierno / Goodbye winter

Ni siquiera estamos una semana en la primavera y los miembros HdV están esperando ansiosamente una temporada deliciosa de pepinos, melones y otros favoritos del tiempo de primavera. Pero antes de que dejemos los días fríos de invierno detrás de nosotros hemos querido recordar a todos la increíble cosecha de invierno que tuvimos este último par de meses! Lechuga, rábanos, frijoles y cebollas estuvieron florecieron en el jardín este invierno! Un jardinero cosechó 16 libras de rábanos y otro 12 libras de lechuga en sus parcelas familiares! Wow! También había un montón de col rizada, repollos hermosos verdes y moradas, remolachas, zanahorias y nabos. Teníamos tanto productos de invierno fresco que nos permitió alojar varios días de "cosechas de comunidad" - donde los miembros del jardín compartían productos de sus parcelas familiares con otros miembros de jardín. El invierno era ciertamente una tremenda temporada de crecimiento para HdV. Esperamos que este poder de crecimiento continúa en la primavera!

Not even a week into spring and HdV members are eagerly awaiting a delicious season of cucumbers, melons, and other early spring time favorites. But before we leave the cold winter days behind us we wanted to remind everybody of the amazing winter harvest we had these last couple of months! Lettuce, radishes, beans, and onions were flourished at the garden this winter! One gardener harvested 16 lbs of radishes and another one 12 lbs of lettuce in their family plots! Wow! There was also plenty of kale, beautiful green and purple cabbages, beets, carrots, and turnips. As a whole we had so much fresh winter produce that allowed us to host several “community harvest” days- where garden members shared the produce from their family plots with other garden members. Winter was certainly a tremendous growing season for HdV. We hope this growing power continues into spring!
