Ahora que el otoño ya está aquí, hay muchos cambios que suceden en el jardín en particular con nuestros cultivos y los días de trabajo. Después de un adiós agridulce a nuestros cultivos favoritos del verano (estamos hablando de ti, pepinos, sandías y tomates) ahora estamos saludando verduras que crecen de maravilla en tiempo fresco-lechugas, repollos, y calabazas de invierno.
Y ya que los días empezaron a ser mas cortos nos gustaría dejar que todos ustedes sepan que nuestras horas de trabajo están cambiando. Con el fin de sacar provecho de tanta luz del sol como nos sea posible nos hemos trasladado nuestras horas de trabajo de 4 a 7 pm de martes a domingo. Y un último cambio- por favor, tenga en cuenta que las reuniones mensuales de la comunidad han cambiado para el tercer VIERNES de cada mes de 5 a 8 pm. Este mes será el viernes 18 de octubre. Gracias a todos ustedes que siguen apoyando Huerta del Valle y a otro período de crecimiento exitoso!
Now that autumn is upon us there are many changes happening at the garden particularly with our crops and work days. After a bittersweet goodbye to our summer favorites (we’re talking about you, cucumbers, watermelons, and tomatoes) we’re now saying hello to cool weather superstars- lettuce, cabbages, pumpkins, and winter squashes.
As the days start to get shorter we would like to let all of you know that our work hours are changing. In order to take advantage of as much sunlight as we possibly can we have moved our work hours to 4-7pm Tuesday- Sunday. And in a final change update- please note that our monthly community meetings are now scheduled for the third FRIDAY of each month from 5-8pm. This month the meeting will be Friday, October 18th.
